“With this collection of paintings I created in response to personal memories and present sensations. I began each piece with a loose idea of an idea or feeling I wanted it to portray and relied on materials experience to craft an object. I didn’t approach creating with a predetermined subject matter or meaning. Rather, meaning emerged through the process itself: choosing a medium and materials; assigning color; creating shapes and lines and arranging the myriad elements to make them work in concert.”
